ive been baking, yes I have!
i spotted these 15minute 'Mini Lemon Merigne' pies over on the Bespoke zine blog and knew I had to try them...
when life gives you lemons you make sweet pie!
yum!
they were so easy to make
and so easy to eat too!

next up was shortbread...i went through my Christmas and a stack of magazines I had at home.
I just couldnt decide what recipe to use so after all that time wasting I ended up using the recipe on the back of the flour box...i added walnut pieces and they turned out deliciously good!

its starting to feel a lot like Christmas....

....slowly getting there in what seems the be the busiest month ever!
so much going on!
* Im organising Neo's 7th birthday for this weekend (25 kiddies)
* we've also been invited to my nieces 11th Birthday party BBQ this weekend
* my house still needs a good spring clean!! messy!
* my workplace Christmas lunch to celebrate the end of the year so im looking forward to a long lunch...nice!
* I still need to mail out Christmas cards
* all the presents have been bought and wrapped ...yayy! (phew!)
and final thing to do before the big day is to start baking some Christmas goodies...yum!

A Cherry-full weekend

We had such a great weekend in Orange and scored big time at the Cherry Orchard - what fun!

what fun!

the kids loved it,

we had a ball too...picking fruit directly off the tree is so satisfying, picking the plump red beauties and popping in your mouth

even better,

but we arrived at the orchard just after a delicious breakfast so we were pretty full already.

we picked just over 10kg ...plenty to go around to the rest of the family and Im going to give Cherry pie a go this weekend! yummy!

I love weekend getaways, we try to get out of the city as much as we can, even if its just a long Sunday drive ...it can be tiring but worth it!

Shopped Out

i popped out to the shops this morning with my Christmas shopping list in hand...3 hrs later

and im not even close to buying all that I need.

can I just say one thing...

exhausted

dont think I want to venture out again until 2012 arrives..haha

Country Style...

Tommorow we're heading off for a country weekend getaway.. we're hoping to find some local fruit, its cherry picking season!

we'll unwind a little, eat a lot...

breath in some fresh air.

I'll be on the look out for some thrift shops too - I always seem to find some wonderful vintage goodies in little country towns....
