Eye Spy: My Karaoke Masterpiece

Ha! i havnt stepped foot in a Karaoke bar in over 10 years but my favourite songs to sing were always

'I will Survive' by Gloria Gaynor ...a favourite amongst my girlfriends! (drop your handbag to the floor and dance honey!)

Mickey by Toni Basil - catchy, upbeat and lots of fun!

and a song I love to sing along to with lots of sultry passion anytime (anywhere) is 'Brass In Pocket' by The Pretenders....

Thanks to Erin for this week's music flash back and funny memories!

Marching In.....

Style Inspiration: The Military look....two of my recent fashion illustrations both were inspired by the military look....
I wish I had more idle time to sit and draw...im so behind on my fashion illustration challenges and Ive completely neglected Illustration Friday....so sad but life is super busy right now! i wish there was more time in the day!
I might be showing my age here but can anyone remember those Army surplus stores
(Disposable stores) - they used to be everywhere but are now non-existant!?
as teenagers we used to love going in and having a browse around....
I remember one year buying a heavy duffle coat from the local one that was probably way too heavy for Sydney weather but I felt so cool wearing it - as a teen I guess thats all that mattered!

Have a wonderful Sunday everyone!

A love of Vintage

Karen Elson has come such a long way since she shaved her eyebrows for Steven Meisel and Italian Vogue but what hasnt changed is her striking red hair, pale long limbs and love of vintage clothing!

ive always loved her unique look and now the mumma of two little ones and wife to Mr White Stripes, Jack White,
is still going strong with her modelling and is also a singer with 'The Citizens Band'

On top of such a busy schedule Karen has opened a vintage store in her new
hometown of Nashville, called
Venus and Mars Vintage

Nashville is miles away from here but the site says a blog and Ebay store opening soon - very exciting!!!
Karen has always expressed her love of vintage clothing and is always snapped wearing some gorgeous dresses from yester-year,
so im sure Venus & Mars has gorgeous things in stock!!

EyeSpy: Green
The back wall of our house is all glass so its always nice to be able to peek outside and see splashes of Green...as well as my boys playing.
i think id like more Green plants indoors too but I have a tendancy to kill them so at the moment I only have one which is still going strong!

Speaking of plants I found an old tattered 1960's garden book at the thrift store a few weeks back...love the line drawings of these plants which Ive aged with coffee and tea! (they now smell delicious too ) ...hope to add some splotches of green ink, natural twine and cotton lace bits and turn them into nature's wonder Gift tags!
