The back room wall of our house is all glass panel so I can see out into the garden.
The boys were busy putting dry leaves into buckets and having so much fun so I thought Id sketch them - they do move around quite a bit so it was hard!

Im loving the song 'Crazy' by Gnarls Barkley!
its such a cool song and its doing SO well in the music charts here in Australia.
it made pop history as the UK's first number one hit based on download sales!

I saw the video clip on the weekend and it was fantastic and so unique!!wild designs and images made from inkblots.

Illustration Friday - Spotted

Oh no! she just realised she had been SPOTTED! This is a take on the media's crazy obsession with Hollywood and celebrities today!

Who cares what they look like without make up or what they are shoving into their mouth or how much weight they've gained or lost - but hey the magazines still sell so I guess someone does!?!

Ive also drawn a spotted dress - about 6mnths ago I was in an Ebay bidding war for a 1940's navy blue polka dot tea dress - OK I was having a Gwen Stefani in her 'Dont Speak' filmclip moment and I really really needed to win that dress - it was just too perfect! Sadly a few other people thought so too and it ended up going for US$80.00 - thats just crazy!!! Im not sad as I know I'll find another one on Ebay someday but this is how I would have worn it - cinched in with a belt and with my groovy black leather boots! Nice!!

Blind Contour - View from outside the Window

This was my first attempt at a Blind Contour sketch.

For those that dont know what Blind Contour is ( I didnt) it when you just draw whilst constantly looking at the object/view so no peeping at the paper.

Its hard - it really is, as you just want to look at what you are doing!!!

This is the view from outside my bedroom window - I have a four window panel in my room - its a lovely feature. The other side of the view from my window you can see in the illustration of my car ( a few posts below).

This is the garden with my yellow picket fence looking out onto the street. I coloured it in later on.

Look at what my gorgeous friend Marsha
sent us for Easter!!
She customised those cute lunch boxes for the boys and they are full of chocolate eggs and bunnies - Peter couldnt believe his eyes when he saw so much chocolate !!
She also sent me this gorgeous beaded black wrap - so so pretty!!

I met Marsha close to 5 years ago on the website www.tcoyf.com - we were part of a buddy group called "Happy little Vegimites' and we were all anxiously, despretely and obsessively trying to conceive.
We all ended up getting pregnant (some of us more than once, its been that long!!) so we are now part of a more intimate internet buddy group called 'Gorgeous Mammas'.
I love all the girls, there are 11 of us!
They are all wonderful mums, very inspiring and beautiful human beings!

EDM #1/#62 - Draw a Shoe

I didnt have much time to draw this week. I did both this challenge and Illustration Friday in about an hour. I think I need to make more time for my drawing........sigh!

I decided to do the first challange as its one Ive never done before. I did it using a new pen.

This is my grouping - a few of my kitchen utensils

These ones are kept in the 'Utensil' container that sits near my stove but I have a whole draw full of various utensils.

Dont you love those warm spring days?? The sun is out, there is a freshness in the air so you still need a light cardigan and its just a perfect time to chill on the couch reading your book but you end up falling asleep.....bliss!!

EDM Challenge #60 - Draw an automobile

This is my car! I drew it from my bedroom window looking out onto the driveway as thats where it stays when im home. Ive never been a car enthusiast (is that a word?) but my husband is such a car fanatic - its the first section of the paper he pulls out to read! For me its just something that gets me from A to B.
